In the short yet powerful video #BlackHistoryMonth, Las Positas College Student Cameron Gazaway, provides a window into the young African American male perspective on Black History Month. #BlackHistoryMonth argues that Black History Month acts to teach black perspectives rather than the lessons of racism. Cameron Gazaway is a 19 year old filmmaker and photographer from the Central Valley in Northern California. His goal is to give the audience a glimpse into the many layers we refer to as the World, with vibrant, emotional and honest photography and film. Cameron’s biggest passion in life includes experiencing new things daily and incorporating personal expression and exploration in his work.
